Dr. Stephen Luke Kirama is a Senior Lecturer, Research Fellow, and Consultant at the University of Dar es Salaam, School of Economics. He holds a PhD in Economics, with a specialization in Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Public Sector Economics, and Energy Economics. With over 15 years of experience, his research focuses on energy economics (natural gas, oil, and electricity), environmental and natural resource management, public finance, and impact evaluation. Dr. Kirama has been involved in numerous national and international research projects, particularly in rural electrification, renewable energy policy, energy governance, infrastructure development, and economic evaluation. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to key studies in energy access, natural resources, and public expenditure. Currently, Dr Kirama is Principal Investigator on the collaborative five (5) years project with the Makerere Business School (MUBS) and the Norwegian School of Life Sciences (NMBU), which is titled Energy Economics, Governance and Research Competence Building (EEGRECOB) under the NORHED II Program funded by NORAD. Under the NORHED II Project, UDSM is developing new curricula in energy economics.
