Dr. Francis Callystus Nyoni is a dedicated Lecturer of Economics in the Department of Economics at St. Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT). He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Capital University of Economics and Business and brings a robust academic background and practical research experience to the field of economic development.

His research interests and publications demonstrate a strong focus on the empirical analysis of factors influencing economic growth and price stability in Tanzania. Notably, his recent co-authored work, “The Effect of Petrol Prices, Diesel Prices and Kerosene Prices on Consumer Price Index in Tanzania,” directly engages with energy economics, examining the critical linkages between fossil fuel markets and broader economic indicators. This expertise in analyzing the socio-economic impacts of energy prices provides a highly relevant foundation for his contribution to the READ project.
Dr. Nyoni is skilled in advanced econometric methods and impact evaluation, having completed specialized training with the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) on fieldwork design and data analysis using STATA. His professional service includes facilitating high-level policy dialogues on alternative economic models for Tanzania, showcasing his commitment to applied research that informs inclusive development strategies.

As a participant in the READ project, Dr. Nyoni will contribute his expertise in quantitative analysis, impact evaluation, and the socio-economic dimensions of energy markets. His involvement will support the project’s goal of promoting Renewable Energy Advancement for Inclusive Development in Sub-Saharan Africa.
