Abdikafi Hassan Abdi is an economist and researcher specializing in climate change, environmental sustainability, food security, energy economics, and development policy, with a strong focus on Somalia and sub-Saharan Africa. He serves as Head of Research at the Institute of Climate and Environment, SIMAD University, where he also lectures in economics. His work integrates advanced econometric methods to examine the interactions between climate shocks, economic growth, trade, and social outcomes. Abdikafi has published almost 40 papers in peer-reviewed international journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. He actively collaborates with regional and global research institutions on climate resilience, sustainable development, and policy-relevant research.
